will my modified v31 work on a MK3?

I made a copy of v31 and edited the splash screen and sky image. My neighbor has a 2001 e38 with factory widescreen and MK3 and wants me to update his firmware. Will my copy update his car? I have MK4 and it worked fine on mine, just wondering if the same disc will do MK3. And What about the splash screen? Will he get my modified splash screen?

this is my current map

and my current splash screen

i was just wondering how it would react with his MK3 if I attempt to load my firmware v31 on his car.
