I dont think that would give mutch on Digital TV, you might get better reception att low speeds (citty driving) at highway speeds it is the tuner that cant handle it, i have seen aftermarket DVB tuners that are suppose to work att speeds up to 250KMh

It's a function of the tuner design.

You will struggle to find any aftermarket TV antenna that is better than the tuned, diversity, amplified system built into the rear window of your BMW.

Yeah, I've seen that video too, and was almost tempted, however I don't use the TV function much, so there was no point for me in spending the $$. I've noticed too that there's a BMW-supplied digital tuner for our vehicles (65500397412/65500397389).

For some cars BMW offers rear bumper antennas for TV. For (my) e46 the reception of digital TV improved a lot.
