I am looking at the website from Netherlands and wanted to know which part I should purchase. I have the 2003 DVD. Is there a way to pinpoint which mechanism I should buy ?

Please indicate from which website ?

The website you mention is Euro 159.00?

159€ is laser with mechanics.
23€+shipping is laser only. http://www.cdlens.com/?item=4257
But they have only white bottom lasers(reads only DVD) in stock, if you need black bottom(reads CD/DVD) contact them.

I noticed that there are different versions. Is there a way of identifying the different versions before I call them ?

Yes, you have a "BMW Mk4 Nav"

The other version is a "BMW Mk3 Nav" or any non-BMW equipment.

You'll get a much faster responce if you ask the supplier directly, rather than asking other people on the internet what they think the supplier might ask you.
