Nav GPS not working properly...Showing wrong location and direction

First I just wanted to say hi to everyone on this board. I have a MKIV Nav, software version 4-1/70.

My nav is constantly pointing to the wrong location and going the wrong direction (although the car tracking works). This started happening about two months ago, but a month later out of the blue the problem disappeared and all of a sudden my nav was back in working form. But the problems reappeared last week and do not know why it is happening. I have included pictures of my GPS settings in the Service Menu. Could it be that I'm just not getting the proper satellites? Thanks for the help!

Your GPS antenna is bad. On your photos you are only tracking one satellite with a weak signal (4.4). You should be seeing 7 or 8 satellites, with signal strengths of at least 4 satellites of around 10 to 18.

Replace the GPS antenna.

And at the same time update the nav OS software from 4-1/70 to 4-1/100 :-)

Might it be worth checking the antenna connections before replacing the antenna itself?

Thanks for the input. Where do I find the GPS antenna? Or the connections rather?

Edit:

Checking the nav again, my software is 4-1/100. The photo I used for reference must of been old, because I just upgraded the nav to the newest version couple of months ago.

Connection of antenna to antenna cable is on the antenna

Connection of antenna cable to nav unit is on the back of the nav

Location of antenna depends on what type of BMW you have - help us out a little here.....

BMW should fix the problem since I am still under warranty correct? Also, since I updated the nav with a custom splash screen, will this pose any problems? Should I update the nav with the default splash? Thanks again!

Put your nav back to standard OS software to avoid any issues with BMW. Then talk to BMW about warranty repair.
