facia replacement of the monitor

I have a broken backlight in the center LCD monitor of my Range Rover, so I can hardly read the information that is presented on the screen. Replacement (of the total unit) by the dealer will cost approximately 2000 euro's . As the RR unit is the same as used in the BMW I want to use a used X5 monitor as they are much easier to find on ebay. But the BMW uses a black front (facia) compared to a silver one (see picture) in the RR.

Does anybody know if the front can be loosened, so I can put the silver front of the broken RR unit on the BMW unit? When I open the motorised front I see some small sleeves, so it looks as if it's possible. But I like to be sure...

Thanks,
Sil
