Weird issue with MKIV-nav

I have this annoying issue with my system;

sometimes I abort a navigation, and I simply want to use the map. But even though the voiced navigation and the arrow direction stops, the route still continues to show on the map, recalculating every time I divert from the programmed route. How do I stop it from navigating completely???

Is it a bug?

Maybe a "Feature" ?

I think what you see is normal. The previous route is deleted fully upon the next cold boot (and maybe warm boot as well - try and see)

Jochen,

it may be a feature, but I find it really annoying!
It does go away if I switch the car off, but I wish I was able to abort a navigation completely, when I wanted to.

Yeah it's always been a Feature or maybe a characteristic to the navigation system.
Also if you go in to the computer it will show you the eta and distance to the last location you put in the NAV

Thanks,

ok, so there's really no way of aborting a navigation completely?

not as long as you have a "destination" input - delete destination will eliminate instructions & mapping
