No, it won't work. You will need to go back to an older version of the release disk. The V31 and V32 release CD have the same OS version (10.0) for the MKIV nav computer.
When you do get your radio split screen view, it will be the same as the split screen view when you view OBC, for example. So yes, it will show the turn instructions on the right pane.

With widescreen monitor, having Split Screen radio means you loose functionality of INFO and SELECT buttons With 4:3 monitor, Split Screen radio works nicely with the BM24 radio. If you have widescreen and want INFO and SELECT to work (which is the correct mode of operation), then Split Screen Radio doesn't work. This is how BMW designed it. In split screen mode, the right hand side show the arrow instructions, or if not currently navigating to a destination, it shows current location, street name, etc. Downgrade then Upgrade of OS is simply a fudge that deletes the navigation coding. The deleted coding puts the nav in default state, where the nav expects a new gen radio and widescreen monitor (ie: splitscreen enabled). However, other coding is lost (such as VIN number, which is used for BMW Assist, etc) You are best to control the coding using eg my NavCoder app (see www.siegenthaler.co.nz) |
