V26 and BMW Assist

I successflly upgraded NAV V26r software to a Mark IV. GPS, radio, Siruius, CD and Computer work fine. After upload, my BMW Assist status light (LED near the CD eject/play button) came on. I tried using BMW Assist and it will not connect.

I called BMW Assist via telephone and they told me they were not receiving a signal. They told me the dealer must reset the Assist module to get it working again. The menu shows Telephone and EMERGENCY as an option but using either one causes the SOS light to start flashing and will not connect to BMW Assist.

Has anyone else experienced this problem or a similar problem with BMW Assist or is this just a coincidence?
