Can't get TMC on MKIV in imported US RR

Hi,

This is my first posting here, and I have been directed here as apparently you are the only people that really know what you are doing, so i am hoping you can help!

I have an imported (North American Specification) 2003 RR 4.4 and I have upgraded to the MKIV Sat Nav. I updated the software to v32 and have the 2009 maps (apparently with the TMC stuff on it).

However when i go into the menu and find the "Traffic Information" section it is visible (albeit a shade or grey rather than white) but it is not selectable!

Also at the bottom where it should say TMC (or actually it looks liek it is a bit to the left of where the TMC should be) there are three brackets getting progressively bigger from left to right -exactly like the wi-fi symbol on a windows XP computer. Also at the bottom right when on split screen it looks like there should be the date or time but there are 2 little dashes then a separator and 2 more little dashes?

Does anyone know if I have missed out a setting somewhere and/or is this something to do with the radio?

Thanks Ed
