Which version is suitable for me ?

Hi;

I am a newbie, and I have a question about BMW navigation system.

I have a BMW 320d m sport chassis (I gues E46)

When I choose navigation from lcd panel, it sayas, there is no cd in navigation system.

There is a cd (or maybe dvd) rom at trunk

I guess I need to download an image file of BMW navigation system and burn it to CD/DVD and mount it to drive but which version is suitable for me ?

BMW NaviSoft v24 or newer BMW Nav V29.1 or any suggestion by your side ? Also which segment MKII , MKIV , must I choose for first time installation ?

Note: There is a version information at the upper right corner of LCD like
Code:
L:DE14CRI
(I found the softwares at http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all...ng-system.html )

Best ragards

Ok, you probably have a mk4 nav computer, so:

v32 is the latest and last for that and the 2011 HIGH disc is the latest for the map.

The mk4 will accept both a cd and dvd for the map.

Thanks for your help

So I will download v32 and burn it to disc and mount it to cd reader at trunk, this is only for navigation software I guess, also I must find the map dvd and also insert the map dvd to drive.

Both software cd and map dvd will stay in drive, there is no installation and whole process will run ove cd am I right ?

Best Regards

Correct but follow the correct burn and update procedure or you will damage your drive.

Also, You will need to eject the map cd/dvd (if there is one in there).

Correct.

It's a single slot mate, so, normally the map cd stays in the drive, only eject it when you do an update, then put the map disc back in.

No, see above.

?? not sure what you mean mate.

OS = cd only (run once),
MAP can be cd or dvd and is in all the time.

You too.
