mk sat nav problem

Hi guys, new to this site and wondered if anybody could help me. I had the dreaded problem of a stuck disc in the sat nav drive, i done my research and found out how to remove the disc which i have now done, the screen is now asking for CD/DVD and the red power light is on on the sat nav drive so it looks like it is working as it should, the problem is as soon as i try to insert a disc into the drive it pulls it in half way and stops and the red power light goes off, any ideas?

Check the mechanics of the drive:

make sure the rubber rollers still grip, clean with isopropyl alcohol.

make sure nothing has slipped out of place.

Or just replace the drive if you don't want to try and work on the fiddly bits.

Welcome to the forum Stu,

Sounds like Jochen confirms that it's likely to be the loading mechanism.

Pop the unit out and have a look inside and see if there is anything obvious not right.
