BM53 Radio Upgrade Problem

I recently upgraded monitor to a 16x9, nav from MK2 to MK4 and the radio to a BM53. The DSP has not been upgraded and the car is 99. Here is the weird thing when I first hook up the new radio everything works RDS, CD, Split screen Etc. When I turn the car off and back on or the radio of and back on I get no sound I can still navigate through all the screens and modes just no sound. the only way I can get the sound it so hook up the old radio turn it on then uninstall it and reinstall the new one, of course it only works until I turn it off and back on. Does anyone have any Idea what this might be.

Thanks

Sounds like a version conflict with the DSP amp.

It may well be the BM53 radio does not talk to the DSP amp in the same way the old radio did.
The DSP amp thus shuts itself down after a certain time when it does not get the messages it expects.

Solution: you can try a recode, but not sure how that will go. You may need to fit a newer version DSP amp.

I just responded to your post over on the other forum. It is probably not coding, but it could be DSP amp compatability, battery, or ignition switch.
