02 x5 nav screen issue

Maybe someone here can help me? I have a 02 x5 with factory nav, I just drove the car from florida to massachusetts. the screen was acting fine the whole trip. for the next couple weeks the screen would act up when we hit a bump and then settle down. this has got progressively worse. now the screen just cycles by at a high rate of speed from right to left. we can slow down the words buy puting pressure on the upper right hand corner but can't keep the screen steady. the nav disc is out and it still does the same thing. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks scott

Bad contact inside the screen.

Remove, dismantle, check all connectors and look for contact problems using a microscope or strong magnifying glass. Resolder anything suspicious.

Or replace screen with new or 2nd hand unit.

Yes, if you are familiar with dismantling electronic equipment.

Usual tools needed are screwdrivers, care and patience, with particular emphasis on the last two items :-)
