RDS Issue / Upgrade Questions
But im not to sure if this is software/firmware related as i upgraded to the latest MK3 firmware when i purchased my car. Does anybody know what could be causing this? Does anybody know how to remove nav screen to take a look behind? Does anybody have the link to the latest MK3 Firmware so i can re-install? Thanks

If the car is Aussie-new, it may have the Oceania model tuner fitted, with no RDS support. This is what was specified for AUS/NZ for some earlier years, because the BMW experts didn't know AUS/NZ had RDS (NZ started using RDS in 2000) If this is the case, then the Mk3 is simply not properly configured for the radio and showing an RDS option in error. Change the Mk3 config with NavCoder to reflect the correct radio module. Then RDS will no longer be visible. If you want RDS, you have to swap out the C23 oceania radio module for a BM23 (if pre 09/2001) |
