ipod cables are not wired the same as standard AV cables. That's why its not working

Use a 3.5mm to 2xRCA adapter (NOT 3xRCA!), and an ipod to RCA adapter, then it will work - 1 x RCA for video, 1 x RCA for audio.

i have the 3.5mm av cable (both ends are the same) isn't that a standard one?. anyway, i will try what you've mentioned above hope it will work fine.

Sorry, I wrote now instead of not.

Remember: you need ipod to 3 x RCA (Video + Left + Right)
Remember: the BMW system uses a stereo 3.5mm connector and puts video on the ring and audio on the tip. So you need a Stereo 3.5mm adapter to 2xRCA sockets.

Then connect the ipod Video and the Left _or_ the Right audio to the 2xRCA adapter

Then it will work.

And of course, iPod output video format must be the same as AV IN video format.
