06 X3 can't identify NAVI and unableto read CDs with OS

Hello,
just got X3 with Navi. I read xoutpost navi faq, but still confused which version do i have. Here are a few pics that i made. Please advise. Thank you.

I also tried to upgrade it ( you can see that it reports MKIV ), but with no luck. Please see images attached. Unit reads neither maps dvd nor 22, 28 , 32 software cd i burned ( i burned with 4, 6, 8 and 16 speeds on 2 types of media).
Same sequence of messages:
"cd check". i can hear it's spinning the disk, then "CD Error" and "no cd in the nav unit".
This sequence applies to both OS cd s and Maps.
Please advise.

The navigation computer is in the trunk. The in-dash unit is only the audio CD player.

Did you insert your map disk and OS update disks into the navigation computer in the tunk compartment?

ahmm. in the trunk okkk. Let me try

Update :
Time to locate the NAV unit - 3 minutes.
Time to update to v.28 - 3 minutes
Time to update to v.32 - 3 minutes.
----
Total time to get NAVI working - 2 days and 9 minutes
2 days spent on burning CDs and being pissed - very productive ..

Thank you guys!

BTW. I used "Office Depot" CDs that were burned on the speed 16x and didn't have problem ( well, after i located the NAVI unit %) ) with the media. The Maps DVD was burned on the memorex with 4x speed. Just FYI
Thank you!

You are at 4-1/60 so you need to update your OS to Ver.31 or 32 to be at 4-1/100.

Will do - thank you.

I'm reading around here and curios about different mods. Smth that you, guys, can recommend that makes the navi more "up-to-date" in terms of performance and information?

Performance: nothing can be changed
Information: use the latest maps (2009-2) for the most up to date street info
Add your own POIs if you want more than what is on the map.
