OS = operating system of the mk4 nav computer

On the navigation monitor, press menu, then set, then look at the top right of the screen, it should have some numbers, eg; 4-1/91, this is the OS version number (not v32, this is the cd release number), if you have 4-1/00 then you are up to date, no update needed.

v32 (4-1/00) V32 for the mk4 (only) Nav compurter

Then use imgburn (The Official ImgBurn Website) to burn a new (blank) cd with the new downloaded OS image.

OK, v29 = 4-1/91.

Use method above and this will fix the update problem.

Your dvd laser is wearing out, if it will not read backup dvd's only OEM dvd or CD maps, then replace the laser, this will fix it.

In Germany you must pay for a Laserunit only, up to 40€. The complete mechanical costs up to 140€.

The Laserunit calls: SF-HD4
The Driveunit calls: DVD-M3 4.6

It is hard to change this , you need a spacial operation , because somebody told me it is a problem if the lens did't calibrate herself, ?

Sorry, but the bus left me and so I must walking...

It´s not horrible to change the laserunit. Indeed it´s easier to change the mechanic-unit complete. Not really cheap, but so easy - only 4 screws...

The lens will calibrate themselve and the lense-sledge do it themself, too.

I´ve only a manual in german, but if you´re hobbyist, then could this bee enough...
