Widescreen nav has a black line thru it

I purchased a widescreen display to replace my original 4:3 display. The display I bought has a black line going from top to bottom on the left side of the screen. All functions are fine , but it is just annoying to look at.

What can be done to fix it. I'm currently looking online for a replacment screen, but no such luck yet.

Thanks,
Joe

I'm trying but haven't had any luck locating one for sale. I was hoping it can be opened and repaired. Is there a generic lcd that can be used and placed in the bezel?

Generic is dificult, but I know the original was made by Sharp. I believe I have the Sharp Datasheet at home.

But you may find one-off new would be hard to find.

Actually, look on ebay - I have heard chinese spare parts manufacturers are now offering LCDs for these cars,

You might also consider contacting Alpine Repair and see what they will do. I saw a post asking about Alpine a couple of days ago either here or on bimmerboard. Separate screen units show up only once in awhile on ebay.
