2005 X5 NAV SYSTEM WONT WORK
I have a 2005 X5 4.4L with about 53,000 miles. My nav screen is blank with only the backlight on and the radio and cd controls that surround the screen are not operational. The dealer wants $5000 to fix. Is there anything I can do to fix this myself?

Check all fuses for system
Check if nav is booting up by observing nav drive power LED Swap units with a friend to determine what is good & what is bad. Ask an xoutpost member in chicago if he will help. Offer him a barbecue to compensate :-)
