I don't know what happens. Let's see any idea from someone. My MK-IV nav works fine, but sometimes (now usually...) it gets blocked, or reboots itself, or I'm watching tv and shut down and restarts, even the TV could be seen but it don't come back to normal mode if menu button is pressed. Other times it restarts and back to normal working... I switch off the car, then start in position1, then it doesn't detect the GPS Navigation but it does the TV, settings, phone and other options. Any idea or solution?? Could it be the sw version (v_32_Mod) and/or maps (2008-2+poi's)?? Maybe due to the warmth?? Thanks in advance, Manu. Last edited by Manu M3; 07-03-2008 at 01:41 PM. Mine did this when I was using a backup copy of the nav disk. When I use an original version it never does it. If you have an original then it may be dirty, scratched, or your drive laser is starting to go bad.

Hi Manu,
Welome to the forums. Mine did this with a modded version of the v31 OS, after a long and frustrating set of tests it turned out to be that the navboot file was too large, reduce the size until it's as clsoe to the OEM size as possible and that should fix it. It could also be as above, a bad backup. HTH

Ok, I'll try to use an original cd map first to avoid re-install new software.
Many thanks to both of you... Regards, Manu. |

Nav reboot ...
Hi everybody,
Quote:
(MKIV v32 patched & NAV_DB_20313 modified) navboot -oem : 11817132 bytes (size on disk 11821056) navboot -mod : 11808504 bytes (size on disk 11808768) Please, these sizes are they close enough ? My nav system continually reboots, unless if when TMC Off. TMC Off everything works fine. I followed all your advice : good quality CD and ImgBurn at slowest speed. I know it's time that this problem exists, is there a solution today to run the nav system with sound notifications ? Thank you all for your work. |

Them files sizes look OK
![]() Do not do any mods to the romicons tab, this is where the TMC fault comes from, (when you change the icons, or if the sky is to big), it causes the nav to stutter (when you get a TMC download), the nav then reboots to clear the fault. I have a ready made file that has a fix for the TMC problem, but it's for the UK only, sorry. HTH P.S welcome to the forums.

In romicons, I only replaced the item # 216, whose size has decreased from 1080 to 855 bytes ... the sky is unchanged. Am i condemned to roll with TMC disabled ? ![]() Thank you very much. |
