Voice recognition module question

I have Nav on my 11/00 '01 X5, and if I buy this part and install it:
Voice Module

can I do as the ebay listing claims- have hands free capability with my Nav system?

I think it's true... but I'm not sure... why not installing bluetooth in your X5? I don't have all part numbers in mind, but with the recent Bluetooth modules, voice recognition is integreted. You need to have the good multifunction steering wheel for this (the one with the little "voice" logo, not the phone logo).

See you,

Thomas

I told you that I tought it was true... I don't if this module is the right one, but I'm sure you can go beyond the phone with the BMW voice recognition (navigation, bordcomputer...)

That sounds right, and the options are far greater with the Bluetooth option.

Yes, I had this module installed in my 2001 X5 prior to my retrofit of the Bluetooth kit. The voice commands are the same for both the standalone VR module and the BT module, so I eliminated and sold the VR module.
