Only Have 5 Digit Postcode Search

I have used 2008, 2009 and 2010 maps, with v29 and V32 firmware, but i can only ever input 5 digits of a postcode, then i have to select the road name.

What Am i doing wrong?

There are NO 7-digit postcodes available on the official maps. There are a couple of hacked maps where the postcodes are listed as POI's but it's a bit of a cludge.

I thought that BMW had stated they were releasing full 7-digit UK postcodes way back in 2008 but it never happened.

I have both 5 and 7 digit on my disc (the 7 is a hack) and TBH, I use the 5-digit most of the time, if you know the house number then the 5-digit is fine, you just have a problem with house names.

BMW don't want to pay for the full postcode DB so we get hosed.

Even with 5 digit search, I still have to enter the road name which really bugs me.
Once i sort my 2010 POIson disc out, i'll see about hacking it to add the 7 digit search on.

Good luck, I had a look at doing this myself and from what I can see, you will need to be able to pull the postcode file out of the carinDB and then hacking it, then replacing it back in to the carinDB.

I've asked Nomad (the poison creator) if this is possible and he said he would have a look, (but no promises).
