Please point me in right direction: Want to upgrade nav software... where do I start?

Hello All,

I joined the legacy x5world site a couple of years ago but sparingly visited. I was not even aware of the change until this morning.

Anyway, I have a 2003 M3 with a burned 2005 DVD that often locks up or freezes in cold weather. Aside from buying a new Navteq DVD, is there anything else I need to do to get up to date?

Nope, buy an authentic DVD. Many of the MKIV nav computers have difficulty reading burned map DVDs. They work perfectly fine with an authentic disk.

Thanks for the response. Is there anything else I need to do to update my system besides buying a new DVD?

Go to the menu screen on your 16:9 where it lists computer, nav, telephone etc and select settings (from memory) in the bottom left hand corner and then in this screen you will see your OS version in the top right hand corner.
