BMW X5 16:9 Board Monitor with broken ribbon cable

Hi

I have a X5 16:9 board monitor in my e39 M5 and for some time have been driving around without the front screen screwed on. Don’t ask LOL

Well after a spirited launch yesterday my monitor part ended up on the back seat with half a ribbon cable hanging out of it, its snapped in two

Does anyone know where to get a new ribbon cable from?

Cheers

Not available separately mate (unless you can find a not so broken one in a scrappy).

No offence but the e39 16:9 unit is less than £300 2nd hand off ebay mate.

Sumitoma ribbon cable

Has anyone used the replacement cable from digi-key? If so, how does it work?

that cable isnt right... that one has a .5mm spacing between pins.. needs to be 1mm. digikey has that one too.. all other specs on it are the same as the original.

i dont know it yet... i need to order the same cable for myself.. I'll post it once I figure it out. I ordered the .5mm one and its way too narrow. Though, if the contacts weren't spaced so closely together, it would've worked. I'm pretty sure its the 1mm but will need to be sure.

If it's like my monitor there are 2 cables, one 26 and one 28 terminal. Also about 26 and 29 mm wide. Also several of the ribbon paths are combined. I would like to get a set of cables for the broken unit I have.
