Question about Nav update

Hello everyone,
The OS on my MKIII is currently 3-1/41. I understand that the last OS update available for the MKIII unit is 3-1/63. What are the changes if I decide to update to 3-1/63, will there be any cosmetic changes, or just bug fixes? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

If I do decide to upgrade, I read that the OS update disks at the dealership are only $7.99 which I find hard to believe. Can anyone confirm this?

See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all...ystem-faq.html near the bottom for a listing of what the various updates yielded. Nothing major, but still good to have your OS on the latest and greatest.

You should strongly consider updating to the MK IV. That's when you'll see the greatest difference.

Split screen I think. Yes I have bought the disc. P/N 01 59 0 141 891. Less than 10. It's just a CD.

I will have to check over my notes, but I believe you won't see any improvement or difference. Your version now is 18.2. After that was 19, 20, 20.1, 21, 21.1 and then 22 which was the last update for you.

If you already have a MK III with split screen then there is nothing else new.

Get a MK IV.

Correction.
His version is, as he stated, 3-1/41, which was loaded from a V18.2 OS disc

He can update to version 3-1/63, which can be found on any OS disc from V22 onwards

The V18, V22 etc refers to OS disc version, and NOT to the nav software version

To the original poster: the upgrade is worthwhile because it contains lots of bugfixes.

I suppose my semantics were a bit off, but what I meant was that he would not see any drastic changes like split screen versus non-split screen, as so forth. I neglected to mention bug fixes.
