How long does mk iv upgrade take??

I followed the great instructions on here and have been siting watching a screen that states CD-Rom in navigation computer Loading software for about 40 mins now.
Is this normal ? Has it even started? Ik not sure it is doing anything but the instructional posts did say make sure battery in good order, so who knows?
And for further info I created a disk from the v32 OS disk. Ejected my nav cd, turned ignition key to first position, accepted on scream warning, then put the OS cd in the drive and have seen this message ever since.
Cheers in advance.

If your upgrading the OS it takes about 6 minutes.
If you created a disk from the v32 disk then the
copy is the problem.

I've said this before in other post. I bought a V32
disk from the dealer for $9.00 It saved a ton of
time.

You were absolutely correct. I waited two hours then decided to eject the disc. When I ejected it, I then got the could not read disc message.
Anyhow reburnt it, and it worked perfectly. Upgraded from 4-1/42 to 4-1/00.
Very happy with this forum and the great users.
Now only have the splash screen to sort out and my existent/non-existent Bluetooth.

Actually, it is extrememly simple even if the mkuv can be nasty sometime. I did time ago and io took less than 5 minutes, and just in case I always bring with me two extra copies of software in case I need to resete the sistem.
