2003 x5 date and time problem

Hi all,

My mate has a 2003 x5 and replaced some bulbs in the dash binnacle (cluster), when he put it all back together, the date and time are now --:-- and there appears to be no way of resetting it???

Also the BC has stopped displayed on the MID (when he used the BC on the stalk, is the related?

Anyone seen this before? I've done a search but can't seem to find the right answer.

The time and data is set via the MID or the navigation (depending on what is fitted)

The reason the clock was reset is that the cluster is the device that contains the clock. disconnect the cluster is the same as disconnecting the battery - the clock resets.

Thanks Jochen,

The car has no nav, just the cluster and MID.

However, for some reason, the date and time does not appear to be set-able, we can get the (bc stalk) to select the time --:-- and date --:-- but can't get it to set??

Any tips mate?

You don't use the BC stalk to set the clock.

You use the CLOCK or CLK button on the MID
