TV, SAT NAV ENQUIRY..

Hi,

I have a 2001 X5 with the standard cassette in dash and cd changer in boot but I am thinking of adding the monitor and sat nav instead.

A few questions,

Is this possible?.
Has anybody done this and how hard was it?
Is the car pre wired ready or do i have to locate the looms etc? and
What items would i need to complete the change.

I already have bought the monitor and sat nav but am thinking i may be out of my depth with this one.

Any help or comments would be great,
Thanks in advance
Lee

Yes, a full nav retrofit can and has been done by several folks here. Joe Puma and King (Arvi) are two that I can think of off of the top of my head that did this. But as you suspect, it is not a simple plug-n-play conversion. A complete new wiring harness needs to be run, plus a whole lot more.

See this article from Joe Puma to get an idea of the scope of the project - http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all...system-x5.html
