DSP no audio Nightmare, help please someone.
I have been trying for 8 months now to get my Audio system in my beast to work now. Its a 2000 M5 with DSP .. I have changed all the units in the trunk due to water damage . The only problem is its seems to be some kind of bad wiring left. Here is the problem : If i jiggle all the wires in the trunk the sound will suddenly play and all is sweet , but if i jiggle some more hit a bump etc the sound dissapears, also the DSP feature on the Menu dissapears. This happens with CD and Radio.. I have tested the "Remote turn on signal lead" so the Amp is on. Its likely to be some kind of communicating cable , but thats just assumtion ? Any ideas on Which wires it could possibly be? All help will be very well recived.. Best regards |

You probably have corrosion on one of your connectors. You need to be more selective with your jiggling, carefully jiggle each connector until you find which one causes the audio to return. Then post up the results and some photos.

If DSP disappears from the menu then the DSP amp is losing communications with the ibus
Either the DSP amp loses power, OR the ibus connection is dodgy Inspect these carefully. |

Thanks alot jochen. I inspected the Ibus cable on the amp, and it was a tiny bit of corrotion that was the problem, it now works and plays like a charm , finally i can enjoy music in my beast .
I am HAPPY !
