no more maps

stopped by the Navteq website to look up what's new, only to discover that they will no longer support BMW nav. Quess it's time to yank everything out and modernize everything.

Any suggestions on new electronics and installers willing to tackle old 2001 i-bus?

BMW have simply switched suppliers. It's been covered here recently many times, but apperently the 2010 BMW USA maps from the new supplier are less accurate than teh 2009 maps. So wait a few years for them to be updated.

missed that. thanx for the info. Still, been trying to come up with a better solution to get around the limitations of my 2001 i-bus.

considering adding the silverline dice eliminated my CD changer, I was under the impression there is a finite limit on how many devices can be hooked up to the i-bus

You are correct. The limit is 256 devices.

Around 20 to 30 are in use in the car, which means you can add around another 200.

DICE Mediabridge has come along. While it's still a little clunky to use, it is firmware upgradable and may eventaully be as good as the Intravee II.
