Whats up guys? I downloaded the V31 Navigation update and ran it in my cd rom as found in this thread http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=210413 Page 6 shows that this update does not work in MKIII navigations. Unfortunately I did not read every page in that thread
I have the MKIII and now that I did the update my screen is blank. I can hear FM/AM but cannot see anything. The CD in the cd-rom keeps ejecting itself and going back in. Is there any way to reverse this? Is my navigation fried? Any and all advice is appreciated. Thanks guys. |

*****UPDATE*******
The latest firmware for the MKII/MKIII Navigation system is V22.1. versions above that are for the MKiV. The cd was easy to burn; here is where I obtained info: BMW Navigation information | The Web Page of Kristopher Linquist It gives you a full step by step. Just scroll down to MKIII and you'll find it there. So heres the story: Heres my old ugly software that I wanted to throw up whenever I saw ![]() So as mentioned above I used someone elses update cd (which was for an MKIV) and messed up my whole system. After making the cd, I put the cd in my drive. It stayed blank for about 30 seconds until I see "Press OK to start update" I was in shock.. Then I saw this ![]() Then this: ![]() Of course I hit another bump in the road ![]() ![]() No fear. I found a link to a copy of a "key cd" (some MKIII's need this to complete when doing a rather big update) .. ----> Heres the link http://www.e38.org/nav/BMW_NaviSoft_KeyCD_Clone_cd.rar[/URL] ... Once it was complete the system rebooted and I see a BMW logo on the screen and all of a sudden I see this ![]() WOW! What an upgrade. For years Ive been wanting to do this. Now I have split screen and updated graphics Thanks to those who helped me out
