how to tell if i already have gps antenna

how again can i check to see if my x5 already has the gps antenna installed? (non NAV car)

In my case, the GPS Antenna lead was located where the Bluetooth module would be installed. I had to remove the bottom panel in front of the cd changer to get to that area. Once I found it there, I had to cut the wire-tie and route it to the MKIV bracket.

xthunder? I also have a 03 x5 4.4 and I'm looking for

the gps antenna. I found a few antenna cables in the rear left side, do you remember what color was the connector? I found a purple and blue antenna cable connectors.
Thanks for the info as I'm tring to see if I need to buy the gps antenna and the cable or not?
Where the gps antenna itself will be located?

The gps antenna is normally mounted up in the rear spoiler. I am doubtful that a non-nav vehicle would have the antenna, though.

Hey badboggy, you are from Campbell,CA? I am actually in Santa Clara,CA!!!

My non-navi 03 4.4i X5 had the GPS Antenna installed in the spoiler and the Antenna lead installed in the D-Piller(??) on the driver side, I wasted about an hour trying to install the Antenna and later found out that I already had one installed from the factory! I ended up returning the Antenna and the Antenna lead.

In my case, the GPS Antenna lead was in black with silver screw cap end. I had to remove the bottom plastic cover below where the CD changer is to see and cut the wire-tie to get the GPS Antenna lead. The lead was tied together with the Bluetooth connector.

Good luck~

One more thing, I actually ordered High-OBC cluster and cancel the order after one day since I found out that 4.4i with premium package already has one in it. I had to verify with some other posts which said that High-OBC cluster has two(2) push-rods!!!

Are you referencing the cellphone antenna or the antenna for the nav system?
