16x9 LCD Polarizer & CCFL

Anyone ever replace their polarizer? I bought a replacement polarizer but doesn't seem the be the right one, whichever angle I put it at.. Maybe a circular polarizer or something I'm missing? The colors just come out washed out...

I figure since I had it apart, I look into CCFL replacement or even going to LED.. The LED option seems too expensive and don't have the time to custom build anything (trickier since these 16x9 units use a U shaped CCFL rather than a single straight bulb).

I might just get a replacement CCFL (custom made) but need to get 10 made to do it. Anyone interested in replacement CCFL's?? $20 each!
