MK IV won't accept 2011 High DVD

Hi, I upgraded my MKIV successfully to the official V.32 software. Now I seem to have a problem with the 2011 HIGH Version that I burned to a Dual Layer DVD (Verbatim DVD+R DL burned at x2.4 Speed). When I insert the DVD into the MKIV, the screen tells me that no CD/DVD was inserted and no navigation is working (TMC in red). When I pop back in the original 2004 Spain/Portugal BMW CD, it works (TMC goes to green) and navigation works (but with 2004 maps obviously ).
What could the problem be? Should I burn a single layer DVD? I read that this is possible by removing the other languages (except spanish).
Any tips?

Thank you!

Try a legitimate disk instead of a copy. The MKIV is known to have problems reading copies. Some MKIVs will work, many will not.

Hey, thanks for the reply. It's about 300 Euros (that's almost 400 bucks) for the software upgrade and the maps DVD here in Spain. That's too expensive for me. I'll keep trying with the downloaded version. Thanks anyways.

So, your only two posts to this forum are asking us how to steal? Good luck with that.

Yes, and with good reason. 400 bucks for an update of a GPS system (which I already paid for when I bought the car) is a bit out of proportion. If the navigation system was any good like TomTom or Navigon, i'd even consider buying the real deal. But the price BMW is asking from me is ridiculous.

Also, funny how these forums have more than these two examples I've found that talk almost exactly about

http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/...ilable-19.html

http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/...-maps-dvd.html

I'm sure that these people had their questions happily answered because... why exactly?

However, I didn't want to offend anybody or break the forum rules so I consider my questions answered and this thread closed. Regards.

Mkay.. If you do have v31/v32, then 1 - you used some low quality media, people brag verbatim works best, 2 - your DVD burner writing quality is not good enough for the old MK unit, 3 - who knows what else. I would rather drop the dual layer and write a simple DVD5 by removing the languages, which is surely more stable in your case.

As above, Remove the languages you don't need an burn to a single layer dvd mate.
