Help: 2002 X5 Navigation Screen/Radio Electric Problem

Hello... I have a 2002 BMW X5 ... And recently, when I start the car, the Navigation screen will not come up (all I get is a blank screen), and the radio would work for 2 minutes and then turn off... I checked the wiring for the Nav screen and MK III system (in the trunk), and everything seems to check out (no cross wirings or lose wires)...Any ideas what it may be? Thanks

i thought that i would add to your complaint. since the weather has become colder in michigan, the radio/nav screen just blinks. iam afraid that it is going to need a new unit.

The MKIII nav computers are prone to failure if they lose power at the wrong time. The fix is a replacement. I highly recommend the MKIV. Those are bullet proof, and you get some nice feature and performance upgrades.

I have not read of a fix for a fried MKIII.
