MKIII Problem!! Please Help!!

Hello everyone,
I just found this site yesterday and noticed the rather large section on Navigation systems. I just bought a 2002 325CI with a MKIII SatNav system and I was eager to update it and change the splash screen. So I found Appy's post for V32 firmware and I burned it to a disc. I went out to my car, started it up, and put the disc in the SatNav CDROM drive. I then noticed on the screen that it said it was reading the disc, and then it crashed. All I get now is a black screen with intermittent white blips that flash on the bottom and top edges of the screen. So after i got the disc out of the system, I turned the car back on to see if that would fix it. It didnt. So I put the disc that was in it originally(Disc 7, Southeast Region) back in to see if that would fix it. It didnt. So I did a little more research, and found out that I needed to burn the iso in Mode2/form 1 for the MKIII to read it properly. So burned the disc in Mode2/form1 and tried that disc. It also did not work. I still only have the intermittent white blips from the black, but backlit satnav screen. I was thinking of finding an iso in already in Mode2/Form1 of a ealier version of the firmware and tying that, but i cant seem to locate one Does anyone know how to fix the SatNav and make it function properly again? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

There is a post here I read a while ago with good recovery instructions. I think kiwijochen was the author. Try searching some more. If I find the post, I will link it to this thread.

Seems a thread should be read from end to end before embarking on upgrades.

Also you will need a mode2/form1 disc that has a different version number than 3-1/63 mate (as that is what you system has tried to load).

This has a custom version number and is mode2/form1, it may or may not resurrect the mk3.

Here is the thread I was thinking of. It is simpler than I remember. In a nut, just be absolutely sure that your OS update disk is Mode2/Form1, and it will work.
