mk4 nav DVD nav problem won't take disk in

i have a mk4 nav unit and it won't take in a disk. hit eject and it doesn't do anything. the red light is on the fan is off (is the temp controlled)? it displays everything fine on the monitor just the DVD drive appears to be dead. anyone have schematics on this unit? any ideas on we're to look for a fix? the DVD does not have a disk stuck in it.
