Sat Nav Upgrade V32 Probs

Hi Guys
I have an X5 e53 2005 diesel sport. I recently bought v32 upgrade and a new 2012 High disc to what I thought would upgrade my satnav system which was working perferctly well before but obviously old system. I have completed the insructions but there is no 3D available on the screen, the screen is a murky colour and there is no SET in the main menu anymore and I just wondered if you guys could help me or advise me what to do. I contacted the guy I bought it from on ebay- he has been really helpful and sent new discs but still no change to the system and still have SET missing from main menu. He said this has never happened before and all his discs usually upgrade perfectly and it seems other customers have never had any probs??. Please help! Really appreciate any advice.
Many thanks
Cliff

Hi there, do you want a pic of it turned off or in a specific mode? When its turned off there is a dull picture of a water splash.
Appreciate your interest and help

Thanks

Hi mate I am having trouble uploading pics, will sort and get them on.

Pic1. Key not in ignition. The screen shows a faint pic of a bmw badge dropping into water.
Pic2. Shows the menu screen with ignition turned on. The SET option is now missing (used to be there with pre installation). Config appears instead.

Thanks for your help with this mate

Kind regards

Cliff

OK,

you have a modded version of the v32 OS running now.

The config is the SET option its just been renamed.

If you have 4-1/70 or higher then you can have 3D perspective mode, to enable this, Perspective mode needs to be enabled in 2 places,

1: The hidden setup menu.

Go to the menu screen select set (or settings) and hold menu button for 10 seconds, when the hidden menu appears scroll down untill the perspective mode option is selectable.

2: In the arrow map pointing menu.

Select GPS-Navigation, then Map, then push right button, select Map Positioning and there select Perspective

Here is a video I made of how to get into the service mode.

Hope this helps

Hi mate
I now have 3d thank you!
The system in top corner is SW 4-1/01 not 4-1/70 as you suggested does this mean anything?
Really appreciate your help.

No problem, I did say 4-1/70 or higher mate.

4-1/01 is a modded version of 100 (v32).

It could even be a copy of my modded OS TBH.

You are a star, thanks, I don't suppose you happen to know whether I can fit a cd stacker to this model. At present its just a tape insert in the fold down screen but there is space in boot for a cd stacker. Would it accept one if I can get one?

Thanks

Cliff

Yes it should mate, any from an e39/e46/x5 should work fine, I may have one in the loft somewhere.

Have a look and see if the car is pre-wired for the cd changer (it should be), there will be a 6pin and a 3 pin plug back there somewhere, it will be plug and play.
