MKIII in E53 2005. is it possible?

Hi everybody, it's my first post on this great forum that l've read constantly for the past 2 weeks. My friend bought a X5 3.0d 2005 two weeks ago. I followed the instructions on the forum and identified the navi device as the MKIII. How is this even possible? Car has a 6cd changer on the bottom, the MKIII in the middle and DVD at the top.

Inside the rear left side there are 3 devices mounted.

------ This is the first device or the device on top The dvd player.

------ This is the MKIII navigation device( middle)

------ This is the 6cd changer( bottom) ps. it doesnt seem to read any disc att all.

The lcd screen is in the sealing(not in the seats).

My english is little rusted, sorry.

ok. i think, i understand - the DVD player and the ceiling monitor are aftermarket, right?

MK3 and MK4 are interchangeable, and previous owner may have swapped them... you can swap them again...

my guess is the original Mk4 failed and the previous owner opted to replace it with a cheaper Mk3 to save money. They are plug and play interchangeable.
