Z4 - Screen dim when cold

Hi Everyone
Since collecting my car (2003 Z4) on Monday I've noticed that my nav screen takes quite a while to get to the correct level of brightness.

It's temperature related as this morning it was especially long (15 mins) to get to operating brightness and we had a frost.

Yesterday lunchtime however, when the car had been parked outside in the (7.5c) sun with the roof closed, the screen warmed up within about 2 or 3 minutes.

Anyone else have this?

My suspicions are that the LCD backlight is failing in the monitor - anyone ever had one of these flip up units apart? I've seen the instructions on how to replace the screen in the e46/x5 systems but never on a Z4/X3.

Thanks

Ditto the low battery on my other post. You probably need a new battery.
