MKIV POI Icon Display

From what I have read the MKIV can only display one "group" of POIs on the map at a time. So if you display gas stations, you cannot display coffee shop, supermarkets, speed cams, etc....

My question is so how do you select which POI group you would like displayed on the Map? I noticed in the "Travel Information" directory structure there is a setting to hide map icons, but nothing to enable them. Also, once you select the hide map icons feature you can not unselect it as it's disabled. I also didn't really notice a difference on the map, but I may not have been paying close enough attention.

If it makes a different I am using Disk-2 of the TeleAtlas High Maps for 2010.1.

True, however there is a caveat to this, if you POISon mod the OS, then you can have 2; 1 is the speed cameras (that are loaded in to the carindb), and 1 from the POI menu.

No sure what you mean here mate.

The icon is selected when you select the POI that you want, the disc hs 2 sets of POI loaded, 1 in the main carindb and 1 from the main TPD dir of the disc,

Indeed.

AFAIK they will be re-enabled when the nav computer reboots.

When you hide the icons, all the icons disappear including the TMC warnings.

No no difference.

I have GTK-2 Runtime installed, but everytime I run POIsOn and get to step '7' in the "How to add POIs to your map" instructions I get a Visual studio error. Any ideas?

I figured this one out over the weekend. As you select different POIs from the menu you it populates them on the map.

Thanks for the extensive response.

Yes, you are running a version of the GTK that POIson.exe does not like, what version of windows are you using and what version of GTK?

GTK2 - Runtime: Version 2.22.0-2010-10-21-ash

If you can link me out to a version that works, it would be appreciated.

OK, try either

GTK2 - Runtime: Version 2.14.7 or 2.16.6

Both these work with XP and POIson and POIson Patch

Uninstalled GTK2 and ReInstalled GTK2 v2.16.6 and I still get the boom. I rebooted and still nogo.
