Thanks Jochen!
Interesting, Straight forward (?) RGB with K bus to control the CID unit functions? I'll eventually try putting those pins on a scope. I'm assuming it's probably sync on green. If all goes well, a behind the glovebox micro pc with wifi, and VRS is a distinct reality. Don't know much about the K bus, I wonder if that signal can be thrown in the bit bucket during switch over to PC mode. Need to put together a bounceless switch. I appreciate your great help! JB |

Yes, sync on green has been stadnard with BMW for a while, it is probably the same. K-bus might be for diagnostics, SW updates, etc as well as any functionality. K-bus is easy to monitor on a PC, it is 9600baud, very nearly RS232, only needs a level converter.

I know it's an old thread but I'm looking how to make a CID work (mine is for a BMW Z4 but it's the same, or almost). For now I just tried to plug in into 12v but does not do anything. The link you've posted does not work anymore, is there some information somewhere I can use ? |
