Nav Screen Dim after replacement

I've just replaced the nav screen in my E46 M3, and although it works, it is very dim and hard to read.

i've adjusted the brightness in the hidden settings, but it didn't work.

Is there a software fix, or should I pull the unit and check all the ribbon cable joints

If the screen is not getting brighter with the software option, then you will need to use the real adjustment pots on the back of the LCD control panel.

This requires dismantling the front LCD panel (from the switches) and then plugging the screen in and manually adjusting them to the desired level.

I cant remember which pot it is (there are several).
