M5 / LEMANS X5 STYLE MIRRORS

OK, like the led tailights, a manufacturer does not exist yet. But I have been looking to do this mod for a while now and have been talking to a number of manufacturers that make M3/M5 style mirrors. If I can get enough people interested then it may be possible. The mirrors will be fully electric, Anti Fog, Dual Wide Angle Blue Tinted Lens with Heated function. The manufacturers already makes the M5 style mirrors with auto fold which will work with the X5 however, for those "without" auto fold I have also asked the question of manual fold. To give you an idea of the mirrors here is a pic!

I would speak with Hagus in Germany. (www.hagus.de)

Thanks

LeMansX5 08-08-2007 09:21 AM

Like the idea. Will they auto-fold?

otoupalik 08-08-2007 09:43 AM

The Hagus do not (they are e36 M3 style). Not sure if they make any for the X though.

Sudesh 08-08-2007 02:51 PM

The ones I'm looking at will auto fold, have auto tilt on passanger side when reversing, and all electrics/heated. Basically the same setup as the X5. Thats if I can get a company interested enough and enough people to buy in.

kceire 08-20-2007 03:56 PM

But they are sure functional! I'm so use to the huge mirrors on the X that I feel somewhat rearward blind everytime I get into a 3er and look into the dinky mirrors

2002Silver4.6is 01-05-2008 12:22 AM

Dblock2151 01-05-2008 12:55 AM

Manufacture for LED does exist in Taiwan. Mirrors are nice, but whole body kit would be much better. I still don’t understand why ACS, Hamann and others create those ugly bodykits, can’t they just copy Lemans? Is it copyrighted…?

blueagle 03-17-2008 02:50 PM

jmweb 04-02-2008 09:47 PM

+1 depending on price!

kostasbmw 04-03-2008 01:54 AM

me too for my x3 even for manual folding

E5M1R 04-05-2008 10:25 AM

Just a notice

BMW changed the control system for the mirrors from production sept 2003, as far as i know no manufacturer has ben able to tap into the new control system. Most of them make mirror that will fit the orignal mirror motor

Look into this before order.

Ps. Hamman has M3 Style mirrors for X5

Any news ?

5800 11-14-2008 04:09 PM

Hi huskvarn,

I have not found or heard anything yet. I jumped on this thread to help with the buy count but came in a little late form the time it was posted.

Ask E5MIR; he is the one that might know more. Thanks

Drinklaphroaig 11-30-2008 06:58 PM

I maybe interested pending cost$

5800 12-01-2008 03:18 PM

Sounds good; this thread might stillbe going

huskvarn 12-01-2008 03:38 PM

Yop, when I see the X5 Le Mans video I'm crazy how it's looks !!
I've a Stallgraumetallic '03 and plan to remove roof bar and put clear headlight...
So, to be continued !

5800 12-01-2008 03:44 PM

What do you have planned? It sounds interesting? And I thought I was the only one who cut on X5's

huskvarn 12-01-2008 03:59 PM

Just for fun :

I'm in love... lol

Looks at the headlight I've found : (I know this is not the topic but take a look at this beauty !)

BUT
This is not compatible with xenon headlight... And those are with angel eyes... What a shame...

5800 12-01-2008 04:16 PM

OK, now I follow you.

Are the light's made by DEPO? If so, they are well made. I installed front clears on my wife's 528i, good stuff.

huskvarn 12-01-2008 04:21 PM

No idea ... I don't have bought them, I've xenon and I don't now if it is possible to adapt ?

Astroboy 12-17-2008 10:47 AM

any news?

what about autodim?

djrolo 03-25-2009 09:26 AM

yes

Hi

I would be interested, too!

For all 3 and 5 series BMW there has been a pretty big market in Europe before BMW went closing those shops legally. After that you could buy them in the US or Asia (got mine from China but quality, fitting and technique was OK).

As all the "good things" are copied there why shouldn´t they use standard M3/M5 look mirrors and mount them on adapter plates for our Xs????

Is that such a secret to do?
