As a follow up, when I had my tire guy put them on, he asked what did these cost you, I told him, he said that is lower than I for pay them! Thank you to X5! |

I bought a set of 19's through the group buy, but I had also bought a set of Pirelli Scorpion Asimmetrico's. I was torn between the Summer Vred's and all-season Pirelli's. In the end I went with the Pirelli's thinking they would last longer and the fact they were wider. I was going to keep the Vred's and install them when the Pirelli's wore out because this group buy was such a good deal, but I decided to sell my set to another member here when a few mechanical issue came up on the X.
For comparison sake, here is a photo of the Pirelli and the Vred. Both are rear tires in the same exact size. |
I am getting to the point where I will be replacing my Diamaris. The tires I am thinking about are the all-season Michelin Latitude HP or Pirelli Scorpion Asimmetrico's. I have the staggered 19 setup. If I was to stick with a summer only tire I would consider the Vreds. However, I like to snowboard in the winters and think it would be nice to have an all season setup. I am not sure it makes much sense for me to get a dedicated winter set because I don't live where it snows. I only go up to the mtns in CA and UT for snowboarding on trips. However, if I lived where it snows it would probably make sense to have two sets of wheels/tires.
