UPS/FedEx Brokerage Fee

my brother just did this in Calgary Canada the other day and the CBSA said they are getting a LOT more people do this daily instead of pay the ignorantly high "brokerage" fees UPS is charging.

I wonder who else gets RAPED (and I mean you feel dirty after paying this brokerage fee) in other countries?
even deliveries TO the USA are not safe I bet from The Big Brown company. Brown is certainly the right color.
