X Turned 14 Yrs Old...
6 Attachment(s)
A couple weeks ago. We got it in mid September 2001, just after 9-11, when we still lived in NY. Time fookin flies...
It may be the 2nd best car I have had in 53+ years of many cars. It still runs well, though some niggling things have come up on the mileage/time jukebox, but it has been quite problem free over all these years. Has 106,000 miles on it, and we did a few trips in it this summer, with more to come. Great trip car: hauls 2 sets of clubs, luggage, stuff, vino and more stuff, and just rolls down the road. It was overdue for a hose job so I gave it a quick hand wash today. No Zaino or detailing, but the ol'Goil still looks pretty good, especially from a slight distance. Sort of like most of the older women/men I know. ;) Thanks for looking! GL, mD |
Congrats sir :band:

mD I never knew you had Piano Black trims (including the steering wheel), that kicks major friggin ass!
Still looking good, and running like a champ I can imagine, no worries about the AT ticking time bomb there. Mine just rolled 12 years old a few weeks back (9/18), couple things to do to be ready for winter and some preventative maintenance (window reg clips, fuel filter, oil change), and she should be rolling like a champ until spring. Only thing showing its age on mine is the original windshield, plenty of pits and some old wiper scratches but at the end of the day I can see out of it and it cleans up just fine, I chalk it up to age. |
Quicksilver,
Thank you, MBFAM! RickyBobby/J: It just came with the piano black trim...I didn't know/care at the time. I have less to no heart for involved or serious DIYs anymore. With annual spring time oil changes on 3 scoots and 3 cars, and simple maint and keeping them clean, I save the other stuff to Indies/pros these days. Our '01 also has the orig windshield: not bad in day time, but like looking at the night sky in dark driving. I will keep it, until the windshield doesn't pass NC inspection. :) GL, mD |
^The way the X runs like a top, I'll be adding another scoot to my stable before I have the heart to go buy myself a new car. Obviously preferred to add more scoots :)

Congrats MD.
Ours hit the 14 year mark in March of this year. The beater has 295K miles. Just got a new mass air sensor just to keep it happy. Runs strong still. Have same color combo except have light wood inside and of course, 5 speed auto versus your rare 5 speed stick. Keep on trucking... |
Looking fantastic mD!! Man, wish we had kept the E53, much better looking than the E70 IMO.
|
Another b-day already? Still looking really good. If all of your wheels are that minty fresh, then I'm pissed.

Still looks brand spanking new. Congrats to the X on it's 14th and many more years of joy http://www.xoutpost.com/images/smilies/thumbup.gif
BTW...love the picture with the Vett napping in "cave" ;) Quote:

Kewl X5,
Thank you, Chairman! Your X is a testament to longevity: a wealthy physician riding around in X that will not die. :) djbock: Thank you, Don. Be careful in that everyday gig of yours! FSETH: Thank you! I got those e 132s years ago, from a poster here. I have managed to keep them fairly unblemished. I like my BimmerSpinners, too. ;) dkl: Thank you! The ol' X shows some wrinkles and wear, up close and in bad lightning. Just like some of us. The VetteVert is 13 yrs old. The Best Car I have ever owned... Just rolled into south Jersey to see DaKidz on our annual Autumn run up here. The X ran like a top, knock on fookin wood. GL, mD |
