Way OT: Pics of theCEO's "fridge"

Not exactly a BMW, :tsk:
TheBoss's '03 Honda CR-V...I Zaino'd it once when it was new, but other than that it has sat outside, on the Mtn, for the past 2 3/4ths years, with barely an occasional wash. It was getting to look buttugly dirty, (it comes pretty ugly as Std), so down here in SW Fla., I found a detail guy that didn't want 3 Bens to do it. Most of the Detail guys here are used to doing MBs, BMWs, Ferraris, et al, and think everyone in Collier County is a freaking billionarie. So, for a Hundred, I got the CEO's car done the other day. We call it DaFridge, as its fine appliance white paint and "look" give it that 1960s refrigerator look. It is one of my least fave cars I've ever owned and the quality is sorely lacking. Not Honda's best effort, imo, or maybe we just got a dud. A good "change" for ya'll vs. viewing fine Xs and other assorted hi-po cars, huh? :) Good Weekend to All. BR,md |

Somehow the "Upload" took forever and two pics of this magnificent car didn't make it.
A 2nd try: |
Looks like they did a really nice job with it. Tell the CEO she now owes you a detail on your car ;)
|
Even if you don't like the car, you've got to like the detail job. Way to go!
|
 md, by the pics it looks as if the fridge does'nt have any garage privileges. Keep er parked outside to take in the salty air and rain :D

;) MD, great job on the Zaino job...DaFridge looks like it just rolled off the showroom. I tell you what it might not have the glitz and glamors of the X and others but the thing will run forever. It just about outsells everyother cute-ute out there in the market.
Edit: Nice freaking crib, MD. Nicely landscaped yard...you're living large!! |
I love it. I must say this is the first time I have seen BMWesque angled pictures etc...of a Honda CRV ;) Looking forward to meeting you and your CEO in DC.
|
My friend's mom has a newer CRV... she let her other son put a coffee can muffler on it
I like the driveway. |
Looks great mD - good work! I always liked the design of this vehicle - just needs wheels and a cool dual exhaust system to be a neat little SUV. What did you use on the black plastic pieces? I really can't wait for spring... Love your crib btw, & the brick driveway too - very nice...
|
Great job!!! What was your Zaino process? What did you use.... any tips?
|
MD, looks like a great job  . I think the wheels look great on that color. I think the CRV is a well designed vehicle. I first and foremost a Honda loyalist, then comes BMW :D .

pics are a far cry from the mountains of NC... ha.. looks great MD! good job..
|
dafridge still looks good.

Thanks to all the Viewers for letting me bore ya'll to tears with pics of a CR-V,
The "clean look" was done by a local detail guy using Klasse (sp?) prods. and claying, though I think the orig Zaino job I gave it way back in early '03 gave it amazing initial protection under all the grime. The Detail Guy said he agreed, as he thought the "look" of the grime on the paint and leading edges would make for a long day; but it came up like new. I really attribute that to Zaino which I still feel is the best "shine/protection" for most apps. I use the old method of Z: Z1, Z2, lotsa coats of Z6 and a recent prod. called Z8 which I bought at Juan's Meet. I have no idea what he used on all the black cladding. The wheels were added way back: ASA 16" in a not quite Plus 1 sizing, replacing the wheelbarrow 205/70-15s that came on car. The MonoWhite scheme looks ok, I guess. This is not my fave car: -front seating is for the vertically challenged, espc. lack of leg room -MPG is just so-so for a lil' 4 cyl. -the part time AWD is not instant, nor intuitive and I'd give its "traction" about a C- on steep, slippery climbs. No hill descent makes for white knuckle go downs. -It has more than its share of rattles. -Plenty of glitches, most of which have been "fixed" several times only to reappear soon after the "fix"; the two Honda Stlrs I've been to are really caught up in the Honda is the Perfect Freakin Car syndrome and give short shrift to a complaining customer, imo. -front end simply will Not hold an alignment; thus, odd, uneven and very fast rate of tire wear, even with the bigger 16s Good "size" and "scootable" around town, however. TheCEO likes it. (It's hers.) I'd like to dump it on a new '06 RAV4 this summer... For those thinking of one, go test drive to check front room and try to avoid getting sucked into the Honda myth, which I have been a fan of, Motorcycle-wise for a long time...disappointed in this car, however. The '06s are supposedly "nicer", but its the same car. Some are made in Nihon and some are made in Angleland. My English version sucks, but not sure it's the country's fault. :) Thanks for the compliments on our lil' Seasonal Starter Shack; it is not Quail or Grey Oaks or Tiburon, or any of the other big buck, "fashionable" developments here in NoveauRicheNaples, but it's ok and paid for, pre-inflationary times.
