I had a similar event happen to myself. My sister and I were traveling down the interstate and heard a loud metal noise. I immediately looked to my right and saw a large bolt the size of coke can come bouncing off the pavement and heading strait towards the windshield. We both screamed very loud as the bolt was coming, thinking this was going to be a BAD situation. The bolt hit the windshield and made a very very loud noise. We were both shaking and could not believe that the windshield withstood that much force condensed into one area. We were amazed. When we arrived at the hotel there was only a small chip where the bolt hit us. Kudos to BMW. :thumbup:

Sofa on NJ GSP
 

Many years ago, a friend of mine hit a sofa on the NJ Garden State Pkwy. It fell off the back of a truck - he had cars to the left and right of him - so he hit it head on. No kidding. He was fine - sofa didn't fair so well!
