Covid?

Anyone catch Covid-19? How was the experience? There is a good chance i may have it. I feel ok at best, but my entire household has tested positive & feeling far worse :(

Would be interested to hear anyone else's experience...

Sorry to hear that your family has it, BB.

No personal experience here. My neighbor works at the ER at the local county teaching hospital. She's been doing lots of long shifts and the ICU is nearing capacity. Make sure you know where to go and what's expected at your local ER, in case you have to go.

Best of luck!

Appreciate the kind wishes. Im not too worried about myself. More worried about my parents & grandma. They are hacking up their lungs & drinking meds non-stop. NYC wants me to quarantine 14 days in Queens :/ ... whatever happens im just hoping for a strong recovery & hopefully immunity... Thanks again.

Good to read and hope your older peeps didn't catch it...

Have had several friends, (our vintage, e.g. late 60s to 70s yr olds), have it but all but one have survived.

That poor bastard, a long time friend from HS, circa '62-'65, had become an alt right type and didn't believe in 'being careful'.
Two fTrump rallies in MI, later, and he came down with CV19, hospitalized and refused to be intubated...off to Vahalla a few days later.

NEway, I/we are trying our best to dodge TheCooties. At our ages and along with my screwed up immune system, and having been stricken with Transverse Myelitis 2 1/2 yrs ago,
I don't even want a fookin head cold, or regular flu or CV19.

Same to everyone. We can't stay inside all the time, but just be careful and reasonable.

My cousin and her family have all come down with it. ~40yo w/ 2 small children. They were all symptomatic but nothing overly concerning. She's a teacher in Miami so I'm guessing she picked it up in a class. Just a guess.

CW, Glad your cousin and family haven't seen any serious effects. I've seen some stories on healthy young people, even athletes, who are suffering long term effects including fatigue and breathing problems.

mD, Great to hear you & V are doing well! Sorry to hear about your high school buddy.

Strange people think God will protect them if they don't take rational precautions. Or Trump, who had daily tests and an army of doctors to treat him, is the normal case.

I talked to my neighbor, who works in the ER at the hospital here which has the bulk of the cases, on Saturday afternoon. She looked exhausted, but said her team has been incredible through this peak. Even the staff that complain in normal times have been exceeding expectations and getting the job done.

Unfortunately my entire household caught it. Including my parents who are in their 50s & my grandmother who is most senior at 75 & has a heart condition. Interestingly my mother who is the youngest (besides me) seems to have had it the worst & is still coughing. Overall, we're still slightly symptomatic. But the worst of the symptoms including debilitating headaches, chills, sore throat, aches, etc have passed.

From my experience I can say the virus is certainly extremely contagious. We have no idea how we got it, & practiced safe precautions throughout the pandemic. Also, it seems to affect everyone differently regarding symptoms. The worst part is really the weakness, fatigue & headaches. I was popping advils every 5 minutes. Otherwise, im glad its over & i dont really need to worry anymore since I should be immune (from what I understand). Ill take a antibody test regardless & see. Thanks again to everyone for their wishes & kind messages!!
